Cheers everyone! It’s the good old Adam Kaupert Travel blog coming at you from Melbourne, Australia. Lots of people think of Kangaroo or Koala when they think of Australia but did you know that Melbourne is the Fox capital of the world? Neither did I but according to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals there are over 10 of these sly devils per square mile. I didn’t see any but that’s ok because there are literally thousands of bars and restaurants in Melbourne. Make your way over to this awesome Melbourne travel blog for more travel tips and Aussie facts:
Adam Kaupert dives into the Melbourne Restaurant scene
Melbourne is the capital of Victoria and a major hub for culture and politics with a population of well over 4 million people. Any huge city usually offers a good variety of dining options but per capita there are more restaurants in Melbourne than anywhere else in the world, that’s a whole lot of food and drink options! There are a ton of rooftop bars in Melbourne, one bartender that served me claimed they invented the idea. Whether or not that claim is true, Melbourne definitely has a banging nightlife scene. In Melbourne and heading out for the night? Check out this Adam Kaupert approved Melbourne travel guide:
Topping the list of notable Melbourne restaurants is Attica. This state of the art eatery is not only highly regarded but regularly makes best restaurants in the world lists. I was not able to fit it into my agenda but will try and eat here when I return.
Adam Kaupert’s Melbourne Shopping for Visitors
Melbourne is a shopper’s paradise.Forhigher end boutique fashions check out Little Collins Street and Flinders Lane where the fashion jet set do their shopping. The Fitzroy areahas lots of cool options and retailers but Chapel Street was my favorite with its mix of new and old vintage shops and boutiques there’s a store here for whatever you’re looking for. An Adam Kaupert travel blog reader encouraged me to check out the South Melbourne Market and I am glad I did, thanks Celeste! Here you will find new and used goods sold by localvendors alongside food and art. The tram system in Melbourne is world class and there are some markets on the outskirts of the city that are worth the ride as well including Camberwell Market, which is just outside of town.
.Adam Kaupert Lodges at the Langham Hotel Melbourne
If you’re looking for a great view of Melbourne and a really nice place to stay then the Langham Hotel Melbourne is your best bet. Overlooking the Yarra River, the Langham hotel is ideally located in a cluster of shops and attractions. The Southbank Promenade is right outside the door. Alongside all the usual amenities that you’d expect from any top hotel, The Langham is home to a full action packed casino as well. I played after breakfast for a bit and ended up winning enough to buy myself a nice dinner later that evening and even made some friends in the process.
